Saturday 22 June after wednesdays grueller nobody really fancied the bowl so we left it out even though it looked fishy. at least Rich Wells could not complain as it meant he would not draw it again - He drew 26 and complained he would be lonely. he was not lonely in the slightest as there were that many bream and carp in his peg !!! wildlife lover and general bird expert, Rich commented after the match on the huge variety and just how friendly the ducks are and how much they enjoyed his luncheon meat. at least that is what i think he said, i am not sure where the shotgun fits in though :-) but, if they had not been there he may well have caught a few more fish !!!! 1st Rich Wells, peg 26 - 64lb 13 oz pole/meat shallow 2nd Terry Brindley, peg 68 - 36lb 6oz pole/paste 3rd Steven Zseli, peg 80 - 28lb 15oz pole/pellet the carp are starting to shoal prior to spawning. Steve Zseli reckoned if he had caught a fraction of the fish in front of him he would have smashed the record. there were plenty of bream caught along with small tench, the best tench today was 4lb 10oz again by Rich Wells. Uncle Mick fished maggot for the silvers on 39 and landed 26lb odd but lost 7 lumps - oops. Geddes Murray broke a pole section on a fish but it was a maver pole so was probably a gudgeon. he says Ron Savage will charge him £6 to repair it i say do not waste your money and put it towards a new pole !
