Saturday, August 2, there will be a fundraiser for the family of Dawn Steelman-Howard at the Senior Citizens Center in Schrock Park. The married mother of two suffered a stroke Thursday, July 3 and despite being life-flighted, she passed away. The fundraiser event is meant to generate funds to help her husband Charlie Howard cover medical bills and funeral expenses. The fundraiser will be an art instruction class conducted by Wine & Palette. The company offers social, public and private painting classes at various venues for entertainment. Show up at Schrock Park at 11 a.m. for a cross and angel wings painting called “Clarity.” At 2:30 p.m., there will be a “Bedlam Boots” painting. Both events cost $40. “Create your very own masterpiece,” Wine & Palette’s website says. “The painting classes are geared to the first timer and the master. Our instructors will guide you step by step in re-creating the featured painting. Price of admission includes tax, canvas, paint, aprons, and instructional artist. View the calendar and sign up for a painting that you would like to do at wineandpalette.” By signing up online, it will allow the artists to know what amount of materials to bring.
