Saturday May 17th at The Yorkshire House RednBlacks final offering before their summer break brings an eclectic mix of political protest folk from TRACEY CURTIS and WAYNE LOST SOUL and the harmonious punk rock of PATSY STONE from Berlin. WAYNE LOST SOUL hails from the Red Rose County but is now also based in Berlin and will be kicking off proceedings with his punchy acoustic folk which was described by the Yorkshire Gig Guide as a turbocharged helter-skelter into the folk-punk fairground. Lost Soul is known for his strong engagement - the right for everyone to be different and to be free, whatever it takes - and the way he stands up for the values and concepts he believes in a fight, peace and pride. He still puts faith in human nature despite his strong disliking of our dysfunctional system as a whole, hence a beautiful, straight to the point set list that sounds like the last outlet. This is serious poetry were talking about here! TRACY CURTIS returns to The Yorkie having always been well received. Having previously been a part of pop punk band Shelleys Children, Traceys solo career was launched almost by accident when she was encouraged by her children to write a protest song against a planned by-pass that would ruin their local riverside dens and rope swings. She went in to the studio to record Nowhere Left to Play, planning to send it out to local radio and TV stations. With that song recorded in three minutes and a whole hours studio time booked, she just carried on playing, and recorded all the other songs she had written at the time. This became The By-pass Demo. Robb Johnson heard the demo and within a few months If the Moon Could Talk was recorded for UNLABELLED, a co-operative off-shoot of Robbs IRREGULAR RECORDS. Bringing the night to a banging finale will be the harmonious punk outfit PATSY STONE from Berlin, who are currently touring the UK. Patsy Stone play turbo-charged no nonsense punk rock ... think 1977 meets modern day angst...Heavy drums & solid bass provide the backdrop for Patsys & Waynes unique guitar styles... Vocal duties are shared between both of them. When asked to sum up the Patsy Stone sound the band say that for us music is just about having fun, We are not interested in the rockstar trip, Our live shows are about energy and passion..we want the audience to feel part of it and not create a them & us divide with people who come to see us... WE MEAN IT !!
