Saturday and Sunday nights, I watched this two-parter, which tallied to nearly four hours. I never thought particularly highly of JFK. He came in way late on civil rights, he pursued Bay of Pigs and Vietnam without weighing the full consequences of either. He repeatedly cheated on a wife who obviously loved him. But he was not a complete idiot, either, and in fact was quite brilliant at times. It is too bad his presidency was cut short by a single, deranged gunman (I dont buy any of the conspiracy crap as any more than crap). I think U.S. history might have been quite different had his presidency continued.
