Saw Maleficent last night with the family To think that all of the events in the story of Sleeping Beauty would have been avoided if Stefan wasnt such a huge dick. There were some differences. * The entire character of Maleficent. In the live action movie, she was portrayed as someone who still cares despite being wronged as compared to the 1959 Disney movie where she was portrayed as someone who was really evil. * In the movie, Aurora was cursed by Maleficent to an eternal sleep to be awakened by true loves first kiss. In the 1959 movie, Maleficent really cursed her to die and it was the fairy Merryweather who weakened the curse. Also in the animated movie, Maleficent did not try to take back the curse. * In the 1959 movie, it was Prince Phillips kiss that awakened Aurora, not Maleficents. * In the live action movie, Maleficent lived in an enchanted forest. In the 1959 film, she lived in a dark castle. The movie clearly shows one thing, that its good people who are often taken advantage of and if those people try to get even or try to reclaim what was stolen from them, it is them who are branded as the bad guys. I agree with one line that was said in the film. True love doesnt exist. It is only an illusion to which we live our everyday lives to.
