Saw an overseas guy comment on this by saying something like: Singaporeans should really be forced to live for at least one year in another country - not even the 3rd world, anywhere in the West is enough. When you have deal with filth in the streets, old, dirty subways, where you can get mugged after dark, high taxes, bureaucracy, corruption, enormous traffic jams etc. etc. you quickly appreciate what a great country to live Singapore is. Strange the hong kongers who live in Vancouver have no such problems. And yes I would love to work overseas and prove that without reservist and micromanaging local bosses, Singaporeans can do as well as their overseas counterparts.
