Sayings from the Conference May 19, 2014 We must acknowledge the global interest in the plight of our Chibok girls. And we will like to thank the Nigerian women who have come out and have been sitting and asking for the return of the Chibok girls, which led the whole world to know what we have been saying and they have joined us. - Iyiom Josephine Anenih We will be grandstanding if we say that the constitution of the country does not allow other countries to intervene in the security of this country while our people are being slaughtered on a daily basis and we are playing politics and playing with words. He who his house burns does not run after a rat. We should concern ourselves with the safety and lives of our people and not the amount being spent. - Rt. Hon. (Chief) Anayo Nnebe There is an attitude we must change, the attitude of discouraging people who are working for this country at all levels. There are trained soldiers fighting these insurgents and the only thing we can do is to behave as if they are not doing anything. It is true that they can do better but they are not getting the equipment to do better. Let us encourage them. Let us acknowledge them that a lot of them have paid the supreme sacrifice in fighting these people (the insurgents). We should not come here as if nothing is being done. I believe that we should acknowledge those that have come to help us and support what the government has done to allow them to come in. There is no way to combat international terrorism without the help of the global community. - Chief Mike Ahamba (SAN)
