Scary! We had just finished talking about the NSA when suddenly a fairly loud unfamiliar electronic Beep! Beep! came from the kitchen, sounding sort of like a warning horn. It was just the coffee pot, I think maybe moisture got to the electronics and distorted the normal sound. (maybe) I dont like the NSA. I realize that we have to protect ourselves from terrorism, but the protection is worse than the threat. We have terrorists because we have enemies. We have enemies because we are trying to spread our civilization over the entire world. Religion is a tool wielded by leaders to motivate fringe people to commit insane acts of violence. I dont have a complete solution, but spreading science education widely would help (reducing the effect of religious BS). Spreading resources more fairly would help (elimination of depressed fringe people). If everyone was totally immersed in building a better world, a better life, we could get rid of all of these restrictions on our freedoms. They wouldnt have any excuse to spy on everything we do, search our luggage, spend trillions of our dollars collecting, storing and analysing our electronic lives.
