Scientist loses 11kg in 24 hours Ross Edgley lost 11kg in a single day, proving that careful control with water intake alone can slim weight fast. / Courtesy of Financial News By Ko Dong-hwan A British scientist lost 11 kilograms in 24 hours, the Daily Mail reported on Friday. Sports scientist and athlete Ross Edgley, 28, reduced his weight from 94.7 kilograms to 83.4 kilograms. He reduced his chest size from 45 inches (114.3 centimeters) to 40 inches, and his waist from 33 inches to 29. During the 24 hours, Edgley replaced carbohydrate and salt with diuretics such as vitamin C and caffeine, which stimulate the urinary flow. Edgley was aiming to demonstrate that many factors are involved in weight control, including body fat and water. But he put a stronger emphasis on water, explaining that because water makes up 50 to 70 percent of the body, rapid weight loss is possible if water intake is limited to as little as possible. So many people are slaves to the scales and have their self-esteem and nutrition governed by them, Edgley said. I hope this experiment will create a healthier relationship between people and the scales, and that people will realize weight can fluctuate based on many factors, not just fat. Edgley returned to his normal weight only two hours after the demonstration, the Daily Mail said. koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/world/2013/11/182_146368.html
