Scott Brooks, Inducted in the Manteca Hall of Fame. longtime native , Attended East Union High School, Northern California prep player pick and award winner and Scholar at the University of California at Irvine, When playing basketball at East Union Brooks average was 28.6 points a game. went on to play for NBA Houston Rockets that won the NBA championship, from there played for the Dallas Mavericks,Minnesota Timberwolves , and the Philadelphia 76ers, from there he became coach in the NBA. Manteca Athlete of the year award, Valley Oak player of the year award, Brooks uniform was retired in 1983. Everyone liked Scott Brooks and was a down to earth person to talk too. Scott will always remember where he got his start at East Union High School , a big part of Manteca History.
