Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24 David is the ultimate wordsmith because he has the most awesome way with his use of words. His writing is absolutely spot on and delivers a clear and concise message. In my reading of Psalm 139, for who knows how many times, I am more convinced than every that God KNOWS you and me inside and out. He knows every detail about us -- physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Nothing is hidden from God and as followers of Jesus Christ we cannot escape from Him. Dont get me wrong these are all wonderful things but sometimes they are a little tough to fully comprehend. This thought got me to thinking about the person who knows me best. For me it is my spouse and for you it might also be a spouse or a parent, a sibling or your best friend. Consider what they know about you and then multiply that by ... ummm, lets say 100. Guess what that might start to compare to how intimately God knows each of us. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Sobering thought. Exactly why the verses at the end of this chapter or so important (see above)! SELAH!
