Season Report - Roxburgh Park Season 2013: 9 wins, 9 loses, 128.58% This was the season Roxburgh Park were suppose to build on their first finals venture of last season and make a real play at the Division 2 competition, however they failed at the final hurdle and ultimately a one point loss to Coburg Districts in the final round allowed Keilor Park to jump them and sneak into fourth spot. Joel Ferguson’s second season in charge as a player-coach and I’m sure as much as the club felt some disappointment having not made the finals race. Best win: Their Round 3 win over Keilor Park away from home, courtesy of five goals to Matt Mickleson set them up for an impressive few weeks and had them in the box seat for much of the season in the top four. Moving Forward: The first big challenge is to appoint a new coach with Joel Ferguson resigning before the last round. They have had two season now with a young player coach and the new challenge for whoever may be at the helm in 2014 is to get the best out of the young crop of players they have at their disposal and build on the success they continue to have with their Under 18’s.
