Second Line! Said the rosary at 5:00 AM today and asked for a dream. Dreamt that I was at a second memorial gathering for Louis where folks were sharing wonderful memories and stories when suddenly in came a great big fellow who announced that he had been one of Lous music teachers and with him were half a dozen other folks and they all began to play New Orleans jazz - in that slow, lamenting style of a Second Line -- I closed my eyes to better appreciate the sound. It was so beautiful. After a few moments, I wondered why the music seemed to be fading away and in my dream I opened my eyes to see that a real Second Line was in progress and soon we were all emerging from the funky meeting hall where we had been sitting and out into the bright Sunshine of a New Orleans street - dancing and singing in tribute to Lou. (If you dont have six minutes to watch this whole clip; sample at 2 minute intervals to taste and see the real deal. Its dreamy.)
