Second question from Joy Wensi: > Hi Prof! Good day! > I have three questions today for consultation. > 2. When writing a resume, how do we address the person if his or her position and name are unknown to us? Is it polite if I just write Hello-? Hi Joy - I guess youre asking about the *cover letter*, since you dont need to address anybody in an actual resume. Its best to find out the name and position of the recipient if at all possible! Otherwise you can use the title of the person who will probably read the letter, e.g. Dear Director of HR, OR Dear [Company] Representative. Hello is rather informal, but its one option if you really have no information about the recipient. However, since you want to make a good impression, its best to spend a little time and effort to come up with something more specific and personalized! Take care!
