Second team suffered a 35 - 5 defeat to a Hartlepool team - TopicsExpress

Second team suffered a 35 - 5 defeat to a Hartlepool team yesterday. The game was a bit of a farce as they did not field a front row even though they had a home 3rd team game and Michael Ewart manned up and offered to play for them. It was great to see Micks enthusiasm to play and his commitment to training this season and changing from centre to hooker this season has been great. He came on for us after 25 minutes and was awarded joint man of the match with Philip James Welsh who has been an asset to the second team this season. The lads still showed great team spirit and Im sure we will pick ourselves up and rebuild next week. Not only was it extremely frustrating for the front row lads to play uncontested scrums it is also a massive game changer when the team you play against have a back row in the front row. The only thing positive to come of this is that we can claim the 4 point win in the league, saying that Hartlepool get 2points for the win and then a bonus point for tries scored keeping them above us in the league. Im not bitter though haha! Knowing the lads we will come back stronger this week against Corbridge at home!
