Security theatre at its finest. This mall has no gun signage at all the entrances. Security is highly visible. The property owners do this to create the illusion that you are safe whilst at their mall. You arent! This is what is called security theatre. They have unarmed security officers posted near the entrances to ensure that the mall is.....wait for it....secure. The first guys to run from the armed robbers are the unarmed security guards. Nobody can blame them, would you put yourself in harms way for the pittance you earn every month? The signage, clearly did nothing to deter the robbers from continuing, so who is the signage supposed to be stopping. The bad guys clearly dont care what the signs say. So in actual fact, the only people the property owners are banning, are those law abiding firearm owners, that carry guns for self defence purposes. They are taking the ability for self defence away from the average mall visitor, but doing NOTHING to ensure your safety in return. Yet many people like the idea that theres a sign on the door that says no guns, and an unarmed security guard that they believe is going to protect them. Watch the clip again and see if you still agree with gun free malls?
