Seeing the current drum corps pictures cross my view - I think about what drum corps was to me. I remember more than anything those bus-rides to the next venue often 8 hours away. Scouts buses were not air-conditioned in the day. We had these slide down half-windows. When you got all 16 going on both sides - the air conditioning was golden. It was these wind-down times which I cherished most. Thanks you Mike Voves - Randy Black - and Eric Bernhardt ( my seat partner for two years ) for those wonderful windblown moments. We let the breeze blow off our sweat and wandered to another performance. Many times just talking about what not. Really, really miss the what not.
