It opens with a kick to the crotch and relents only briefly for a smutty, lounge tinged tune about an STD. This record will wake you up from death. I cant listen to it in the car because it makes me want to smash everyone and everything in sight. And Linoleum, what a song. Closest friend, linoleum! Its a song written by people whove spent a lot of time passed out in the kitchen floor for people whove spent a lot of time passed out on the kitchen floor. On top of that, this album brings back some of the best memories of my teen years. Riding around with my cool, punk drummer friend and my bro, all three of us squeezed into his two door Saturn while managing to also squeeze the beautiful and mysterious Abot sisters into this tiny five speed sedan. Late night drives, tossing shit into swimming pools, benders, misery, angst, and that long forgotten belief that it was me against the world (and I was sure to win). I dont mosh much these days, but I still play a Telecaster. This band is responsible for that. Heres to your Friday night. And, should you find yourself in a pool of vomit while curled in the fetal position on your kitchen floor, say hello to the linoleum for me.
