#Self Development is the Key I want to talk about something that will help us succeed in life in case our education or academic qualification fails us. In Nigeria today, except recently, there has been this over emphasis on university education and minimum talk about self development. As a human resource development analyst and motivational speaker, I want to point you to something that should be your first priority before acquiring university education. From the look of things, the more the graduates the more the unemployment. I will share an idea from my book Start Early. Self development is the process by which a persons character or abilities are developed to make success in life possible to attain. In a world like ours where education doesnt seem to fill the vacuum of self discovery in man, self development does it better. But self development is hard work. Self development is all about getting a practical knowledge of any field you want to delve into. It is all about learning a skill that will express your natural ability. It is all about developing your talent before acquiring university education. It is all about character formation so that you will be able to manage success without abuse. Without determination, no matter how self developed you create ideas that pays off in life, you may go far but fall back. Dont join the ever increasing stream of unemployed youths and graduates.
