Senator Elect Tom Cotton: We Might Change Congress Plans to Tacitly Accept Amnesty if We Melt Down Congressional Phone Lines Like We Did in 2007 —Ace Good idea. Heres my idea. We cant just vote against all of these assholes because we cant just put the Democrats into power. On the other hand, we can also not support them when they are constantly lying to us and Gruberizing America by forcing crap on us we object to. So heres my plan. We take 7-10 Congressmen out in 2016. Wed still have the majority so taking out 7-10 of them doesnt hurt us. But it does inflict a serious penalty on those Congressmen themselves, as well as serving notice to the Class of 2018 that we will not be defied with impunity. My idea is that we pick 7-10 of the biggest assholes on our side and just vote for the Democratic challenger in 2016. Like Hal Rodgers. He should be on the list. Boehner too. We dont need every Republican to so defect; a mere 8% of the party could throw an election in this way, even in a fairly safe seat. The next round, in 2018, we can vote a Republican back into that seat, so long as its not Hal Rodgers. We can therefore exact a punishment which punishes the malefactors without punishing we ourselves; its a way to cut off the nose without spiting the face. So what we need is a group of people with some authority to nominate the 7-10 guys were going to make an example of in 2016. And then we need to agree to tank those guys in the election, not staying home, but affirmatively voting for the Democrat. You may say, Thats swell, but what about Senators? Well, we can do it with Senators, too, but likely no more than one or two of them. I wouldnt propose doing it for 2016 since we can certainly not bank on even having the majority; once we have an idea of how many of our weakest Senators we can afford to sacrifice, Id then maybe propose nominating one or maybe two of these guys for de-election. One problem with Senators, of course: A senate term is six years, not two like a Representative. Thats a long, long time to give a Democrat a vote. Oh: Note we can do this every single election, taking out another group of assholes. In 2018, well be voting Republicans back into the seats we gave to the Democrats in 2016, so we can make fresh examples of wayward Republicans. (Note that we cant be sure well get back all of the guys we lost in 2016, so well have to punish fewer guys in 2018. Well have to figure out each year how many we can afford to deliberately tank without incurring too much risk of punishing ourselves.) And so on, forever. Every Congressman will know that he can be nominated for The Shit List and tanked out of office unless he shows a minimum level of interest in representing his voters.
