Cox, Executive Director NRA Institute for Legislative Action Andrew’s Note: The ‘concept’ that the Attorney General is discussing is ‘Stand Your Ground’ legislation that is the law of the land in a number of the States including Florida. The Attorney General appears to be conveniently forgetting when he invokes the Zimmerman case is that Stand Your Ground did not apply to that case in any way. Stand Your Ground eliminates the ‘requirement’ to retreat when threatened that exists in most of our States but if someone is sitting on your chest, no retreat is possible.
