September 30 2013 Indian markets are expected to open flat to negative tracking the negative opening in SGX Nifty and most of the other Asian markets. US markets fell on Friday due to concerns over the possibility of partial shutdown of government spending as lawmakers failed to arrive at a consensus on passing the emergency spending bill. Government funding is expected to run out by Monday if a new continuing resolution is not approved by both houses of Congress and signed by President Obama. Meanwhile a report released by the Commerce Department showed that U.S. personal income and spending both rose in line with estimates in August. European finished lower on Friday worried over the possible government shutdown in US and political developments in Italy. Indian markets fell sharply on Friday due to lingering concerns that high consumer price inflation may prompt RBI to raise policy rates again. Source angelbroking
