Your vote is a precious thing; a cherished and coveted symbol, a symbol of which proud Australians fought so bravely to protect. Therefore, you must consider very carefully the party you choose to lead Australia. My name is Patrick Wood and I am the leader of a new and honourable political party. I humbly beg a moment of your time to consider the views of my party. In short, we are named the SSPA. To you, dear voter, we are the Sausage Sizzle Party of Australia. For too long have sausage sizzles been taken for granted. The smell of cooking onions and of a spitting snag is the smell of freedom. Whether it is your local Bunning’s Store or your local school fate, the sausage sizzle has stood steadfast in its belief. They are the beliefs of a fairer go for all Australians. The SSPA believes that it has the tenacity and capabilities to tackle the big issues in Australia today. Firstly, the SSPA pledges to never leave an Australian hungry, setting up sausage sizzle stands at every major junction in Australia. This major policy will see millions of jobs created, not only for hardworking individuals, but also for individuals seeking their fair shake of the sauce-bottle. Secondly, the SSPA will provide all refugees and asylum seekers with stable and steady work, establishing sausage factors in which these people can feel safe and secure from persecution. Lastly, the SSPA recognises the importance of gay marriage, and wholly supports the individual’s right to have a “sausage fest”, if they so choose. The Sausage Sizzle Party of Australia will strive for what is right, what is fair, and what is held dear to all Australians.
