Serious kudos to everybody who won Pikes Peak Arts Council Awards last night. Among the big winners was our own curator, Joy Armstrong, who took home two for: C.I.A. (Creative, Intriguing and Astonishing) and Excellence in Curatorship, both for her work in putting together the edgy and fabulous exhibition, PAMELA JOSEPHS SIDESHOW OF THE ABSURD Other FAC honors: Christopher Sheley and Holly Anne Rawls won Outstanding Technical Achievement for the sensational Art Nouvea set and dramatic lighting effects in THE WIZARD OF OZ. Our Bemis School of Arts Youth Documentary Academy student Bailey Francisco took home a Rising Star award for his film AFTER WAR. Veronika String Quartet won Best Perfomance/Small Group for TRANSFIGURED NIGHT. Also: Michael Lee, who stars as Renfield in our current production of DRACULA, took home Outstanding Performance by an Actor for his work in THEATREWORKS SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS.
