Seriously scary IRS call today. I mean scam. I was told Im being investigated for first degree fraud. My local authorities would pick me up, Id spend 48 hours in jail, then go In front of a federal judge and I would be proven guilty. I FELT LIKE MARTH STEWART, without the talent, or tv show, or money, or the dogs. After a couple hours of waiting for the real IRS on hold, Im cleared as an average, tax paying, paycheck to paycheck, single white female. Dodged that one... I can say, my scam artist was really mean, that was my second clue after knowing that Im not out of sorts with my taxes. I called the number they gave me to verify, and that guy was rude as well...saying that agent was trying to help you, you werent listening! Then I called the real IRS, and that guy was awesome. Not a friend for life but he dried my tears and assured me that not a poor single white mom going to jail for a crime I didnt commit.
