Seventh-day Adventist and Salt... The RDA for sodium varies, - TopicsExpress

Seventh-day Adventist and Salt... The RDA for sodium varies, but is between 1.6 and 2.4 grams per day. However, people that are highly active will need much more. For each hour of moderate/high intensity exercise, 1.5+ grams of sodium is lost via sweat. Why am I saying this? Simple... Salt is essential to diet as it is one of the key sources of electrolytes. And this is needed during exercise or just going throughout the average day. However, we see the typical Adventist removing (additional for some) salt from the diet; usual claims of preventional measures against hypertension and yada yada. I wont go down the road of the importance of salt in other aspects of the human life but I would mention that I have experienced a lot of senior Adventist individuals complain about muscle cramps. In my very few 22 years of life on the planet I have learned that a lot of Adventists regurgitate what they have heard in church as law and forsake the simple state of common sense for tradition. Physically we are cramping and seek other remedies for a problem we have created. The problem was never the salt itself but the amount of the salt we use. Okay, lemmi get to the point. Our lives are to be seasoned by the word of God but we tend to remove the salt of the scriptures to suit our ideals of diet (lifestyle). We wonder why our spiritual life(legs) gets cramps and why our financial life (hands) is cramping and why we tend to get the aches and pain. We question why we dont have the energy to keep our ministry going or why the Sabbath school is failing or why Adventist Youth programmes are empty and I am here to tell you it is because you didnt cook with salt. You spiritual servings for others were seasoned with your ideology and understanding of scripture and cooked under the low burning temperature of your ego with a splash of Jesus Christ and a side raw of scripture (in this case the salad) because you know it has to be a healthy meal; must have salad. I call this a miracle pot as we then say to anyone who dares to add salt that we are limiting the power of God but yea.... In the end what you will have is more cramps and low zeal and moral as the food was not palatable to others much less the Adventists who may have acquire the taste resulting in a spoiled Sabbath lunchs fellowship. Do not be scared to add a little salt to your diet. Stop cramping so much, get back your energy. Do not stunt your natural function. Observe the RDA value for scriptures, I mean salt in your life and then maybe you would see the vast difference it makes in your life. #temperance #NEWSTART #balance Fidelium - The Faithful luncheon coming soon... Cook a blessed Sabbath meal for others tomorrow... I was thinking of visiting so I am not sure whose meal I would be tasting.. but I want salt.. :P Happy Sabbath Everyone.
