Several positions at Alpha House Ann Arbor IHN at Alpha House (located in Ann Arbor) Rapid Re-Housing Coordinator /Full-Time The Rapid Re-Housing Coordinator (RRHC) performs the central case management function for service delivery to families participating in the RRH program in Washtenaw County. Following a Housing First model, the RRHC works closely with community agencies to facilitate effective and efficient referrals to help families maintain housing. General Responsibilities: Engage families and their existing support systems in developing an individualized, strengths-based, culturally appropriate housing plan Assist Program Director by coordinating RRH program and staff Maintain documentation using HMIS Service Point for all client files and services Connect families to mainstream benefits as needed Work with families to create a realistic family budget Assist families in identifying housing Ensure positive transition for families from shelter to housing Assist families in formulating family housing stability plans including short-term and long-term family goals Monitor families’ progress toward their goals via regularly scheduled, face-to-face, home and office visits, telephone contact identify existing community services and make individualized referrals Maintain relationships with private landlords and property managers to coordinate eviction prevention efforts, with the assistance of the Community Housing Liaison Transport families as needed Facilitate referrals to other services as needed, with a focus on obstacles to housing (i.e. legal issues, physical/mental health, etc.) Assist Program Director with HMIS Service Point data entry quality assurance Minimum Qualifications: MSW required, LMSW preferred; and 3 years relevant experience. Ability to work as part of a team using strength based approach; proven record of successfully working with diverse populations; passion for and experience working with low income and homeless populations; experience working with children and families; effective group work skills, and adequate computer skills are required. Strong knowledge and experience with HMIS Service Point data system preferred. Ability to work flexible hours (some nights and weekends required). Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record and be deemed insurable to drive by the organization’s liability insurance carrier. The VS is also responsible for working with resident children, planning programming for the evening Activity Time. General Responsibilities: Act as key liaison between volunteers, staff and families in shelter Assist volunteers as needed during dinner hour Assist in developing programming for evening Activity Time Engage volunteers and model appropriate interactions with families in shelter Maintain communication with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure that volunteer interaction with families is appropriate and responsive to current needs Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with at least 1-3 years of relevant experience of successfully working with diverse populations; passion for and experience with low income people or people experiencing homelessness; good customer service skills; ability to work flexible schedule; ability to work as part of a team; experience working with children; effective group work skills; ability to develop collaborative relationships and partnerships; demonstrated interpersonal skills. IHN @ Alpha House is an emergency shelter for children and families experiencing homelessness in Washtenaw County. The primary responsibility of this position is to support staff and ensure daily logistics of the office are effective and efficient. General Responsibilities: Keep the front desk area and office supply room organized. Order office supplies routinely. Maintain website and agency materials. Provide consistent office support at front desk and on phone. Maintain files of IHN manuals, forms and other essential documents. Assist the Development Coordinator with letters and direct mail solicitations. Maintain donor and volunteer database. Assist the Executive Director with board mailings and special projects. Other duties and special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: At least 1-2 years’ experience in administrative support and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required. Experience with database entry required. Experience with WordPress or other website platform preferred. Familiarity with professional correspondence (business letters, mail merges, etc.) required. Previous work with homeless or low-income families preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, a proven ability to work unsupervised to complete assigned tasks, and a history of reliability in the workplace required.
