Sh. Abu Mohammed al-Maqdisi declares COMPLETE DISASSOCIATION (Baraa) from the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Shaam (ISIS) and calls on Muslims to do the same. Extract from the Fatwa: We hereby declare that the group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Shaam (ISIS) is a deviant group, an aggressor of the Mjahideen, wallowing in Ghuloww. It is implicated in spilling the blood of the Mujahideen and of usurping their wealth, their war booty, and the areas that they liberated from the regime. ISIS has deformed the image of Jihad and dispersed its energies. They have turned their guns from the chests of the apostates and the aggressors to the chests of the Mujahideen and the Muslims. Their deviant acts are too numerous to detail here and are all documented. We call on all the Mujahideen to adopt this Fatwa, and to declare their clear support and assistance to the side of the conflict that is on Haqq. We also call on members of ISIS to leave the group and join Jabhat al-Nusra and obey its leaders. This is what we have ruled for them and what we strongly advise them to do. We also call on all Jihadi forums and media outlets who are concerned about the affairs of the Muslims to publish and support this Fatwa and to STOP PUBLISHING THE STATEMENTS AND RELEASES OF ISIS. The aim of this Fatwa is to remove the cover of legitimacy from ISIS. This is A DECLARATION OF INNOCENCE from their extremist methods, from their spilling of Muslim blood, from their deformation of the image of Jihad and Mujahideen, from their persistence in wrong-doing and their refusal to submit to al-Shar3. It is ISIS that has brought this upon themselves when they refused to take advise that many have given them in private and in public, when they refused to submit to arbitration, and when they refused to take the orders of their commanders and emirs, and when they refused to return rights they usurped from people. It has become necessary that we tell the truth, after we exhausted all the possibilities of advice and all hopes of making ISIS return to the path of al-Haqq, and after they refused and insisted on the path of wrong and deviation. It has become an obligation on the people of Jihad TO WARN MUSLIMS ABOUT ISIS, AND TO DISTANCE THEMSELVES FROM THEM and side with those groups that fear Allah and who are truthful in order to unify the Jihad effort and solidify the ranks. Allah loves those who fight in his path as a solid block and hates to see the Jihad dispersed and dis-unified.
