Shaken Baby Syndrome --> abusive head trauma that results from being vigorously shaken by someone. Parents usually do it to stop the baby from crying, out of frustration. Well it does have the desired effect. Although at first the baby cries more, he/she will eventually stop crying as the brain is damaged. The infants neck muscles arent well developed(very little support to the head). The violent movement pitches the infants brain back and forth within the skull, sometimes rupturing blood vessel and nerves throughout the brain. It only takes about 5 seconds of shaking to cause the baby permanent brain damage or death.. P.S : New parents if your baby cries, plz dont shake them. Just pass them to your partner and go punch a pillow to let out your anger and frustration
