Shanna and I went and saw a late showing of David Finchers Gone - TopicsExpress

Shanna and I went and saw a late showing of David Finchers Gone Girl last night. If you know anything about David Fincher, (Seven, The Game, Zodiac) he likes to create intense films that keep your mind going and this movie continues that. I have spent the last week or so trying to stay away from spoilers, up to and including the book, so I wont reveal any here. The movie is just shy of 3 hours, but the movie had me so hooked from the beginning that it just flew by. Watching the trailer only gives you a taste, and reveals absolutely nothing to the core of this film. Ben Affleck continues his streak of picking smart projects to further wipe away some of the duds from early in his career, though the real standout of the film is Rosamund Pike portraying his wife. Your feelings towards her will be all over the map by the time you walk out. The supporting standout by far was Neal Patrick Harris who someone dug deep to pull out one of the creepiest performances I have ever seen. Come Oscar time this movie will be nominated for a bundle, but being early in the season may only win a couple as to most of the winners have been coming late in the season the last few years. I give this movie a 9/10 or a solid A.
