(Shared by Raven Mckay-Croswell) Ruining an adventure. This is a quick description of how I when I first started playing dnd managed to end the game before it ever got rolling. We where a party of your basic 1st level characters chilling in a tavern preparing to set out on a long campaign to stop a red dragon from ruling the province. I was a 1st lvl dwarf fighter and was fairly new to the game so I lacked the proper fear of more powerful monsters. The Dm decided to give us a show of force and made the dragon appear to collect its toll from the town and every one fled but me. Now big new I decided that the dragon couldnt do this to people and get away with it so I ran out of the tavern with my long bow and took aim. First shot the dragon laughed with imputiy at the thought of such a weak thing trying to kill it. Second shot it still mocked me and was preparing to destroy me and the town for my foolishness. Third shot was a instant kill rolling 3 natural 20s that struck the beast in the eye killing it instantly. To say I was rewarded with very fine dragon equipment and the Dm was slightly mad about it.
