[Shared from Haligonia.ca on Facebook] Halifax Metro and Halifax County West Special weather statement for Halifax Metro and Halifax County West continued Significant snowfall possible for most of Nova Scotia Wednesday afternoon and evening. A low pressure system is forecast to develop along the Eastern Seaboard of the United States on Wednesday and pass south of Nova Scotia late in the day. Latest indications are this system will bring significant snowfall and strong northeast winds to much of the province, likely beginning over southwestern sections near noon then spreading northeastward during the day reaching Cape Breton by late afternoon or early evening. The strongest winds will likely be later Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night. Latest guidance suggests that between 10 and 20 centimetres of snow is possible, with the highest amounts most likely over Southwestern Nova Scotia and along the Atlantic coast. It is too early to give more precise values and timing due to track uncertainties however we will continue to monitor the evolution of this system. The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
