Sharing from George... "HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA. (Mason Weaver) This 4th of July 2013 we celebrate 237 years of this great experiment called Freedom. Freedom is still haunted by those who feel it is an impossible dream. This nation has lost thousands of her finest defending the concepts of freedom. During the initial birth pains of freedom, wise men were inspired by God to lay down the philosophy that guides us. These thoughts and ideas did not originate with those brave leaders; they were inspired by faith in the giver of freedom. The leaders acted as Midwives and wet-nurses as this country came into existence. The Creator blessed this nation with leaders and power to deliver freedom and self rule. While we have never been perfect, we have been reflective. This nation has never been afraid to change course and stay on the path of freedom. Their first original documents lend testimony of their personal beliefs that this nation was not conceived by man but by God. “We hold these truths to be self evident.” This statement could be translated as, “Everyone should be able to see this is true.” They believed that truth was not only absolute but understandable for everyone. They did not need academic scholars, think tanks or government grants to see clearly certain things. What was this great truth of which the founding fathers saw clear evidence? “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created…?” The Foundation of our freedom sits on a pedestal of our Creator. It is a pedestal of freedom, even freedom not to believe. This 4th of July I plan to be with family and friends celebrating and commemorating the freedoms we have. In the midst of others who believe God requires them to restrict my freedoms, in the presence of others who believe I should surrender my culture for their own power, in the face of others who despise freedom, I make my declaration of freedom. I hold these truths to be self-evident; I have been endowed by my Creator with the gift of freedom. I am free to hold ideas you may disagree with. You are free to be offended by my beliefs. I have the freedom not to accept your views of my nation and to work hard to insure your views do not take effect in my nation. As a free person with a Creator, I choose to continue this great experiment called The United States of America. I choose to witness the blessing the entire world has received because of our freedoms. The world is safer, better fed, protected, educated and comfortable because our freedom has allowed us to become prosperous and to become generous. We are not who we are because we are better people. We are who we are because of freedom. I hold these truths to be self evident, God ordained our birth, God blessed our growth and may God continue to Bless America. by Mason Weaver"
