She had ALOT of criticism even within the autism community and not - TopicsExpress

She had ALOT of criticism even within the autism community and not longer after she disclosed, she said on twitter 5th August, I am NOT autistic. I HAVE NEVER SAID I AM. If she was diagnosed or not, she is a woman that is clearly being misunderstood, who is being cast into a role by the public and the media that is out of her control. A similar thing happened to Paula Hamilton when she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother. Watching the show and how others interacted with her was like watching a clip from many of our own lives. We need more women to step forward, to tell their stories and to advocate. We need more understanding in the community but also amongst ourselves. We certainly need people to understand the difference between a behaviour choice and what is part of an unmet disability need.
