Dear friend of the animals, Pet Retail Ban - bunny, cat, dogFrom time to time, animal-related issues may arise which I believe are important to bring to your attention. I am writing to ask for your support in helping San Diego ban the sale of puppies/dogs, kittens/cats and rabbits in retail establishments. We believe this is an important step in helping to prevent the sourcing of animals from puppy mills and other forms of non-responsible animal breeding. It is important to emphasize that this ordinance will not prevent responsible breeders from providing dogs, which we support. This ordinance is about commercial, large scale breeding operations, the most common source of puppy mill dogs. This is an important issue for our community and one that impacts homeless animals in shelters and rescue animals everywhere.
