Shenzhen Customs preferential agreement imports up 18.7pc in 2013 Shenzhen Customs handled 69,334 batches of imported products under preferential trade agreements in 2013, 18.7 per cent more than in 2012, Xinhua reports. Value of these imports climbed 24.38 per cent to US$3.56 billion. The reduced and exempted tariff added up to CNY2.63 billion (US$429 million), up 25.8 per cent, Xinhua reports. China has signed a total of 13 preferential trade agreements. In 2013, imported goods under the China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement contributed the most to Shenzhens value of preferential imports, which surged 24.5 per cent to $1.99 billion and accounted for nearly 60 per cent of Shenzhens total. Imports under the Mainland-Taiwan Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), the China-Chile Free Trade Agreement, the Mainland-Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) and the China-Singapore Free Trade Agreement each valued more than $100 million. Shenzhen Customs handled 19 categories of preferential trade goods including vegetation, rubber, food, electrical and mechanical products. Fruit is the biggest contributor to the value of preferential imports, which valued $1.42 billion and took up nearly 40 per cent of Shenzhens total. Durian, longan and grapes were the top three fruit imports.
