Jesus changed everything! ME: How do you know that Jesus wasnt just another false prophet? HER: Because there is prophecy in the Bible of the coming messiah that will save his people. ME: You mean the prophecy primarily from the book of Isaiah and then, the Psalms? HER: Yes, I guess so - I dont remember the exact passages. ME: I do. They are from the Old Testament that you consider completely irrelevant. HER: No, but those were about Jesus. The story had to be told first... ME: So that it could be easily mimicked? Think about it - without the Old Testament, there is NO Jesus - just another wandering false prophet stirring up trouble, getting kicked out of towns for being a nuisance. HER: I know what you are trying to do... ME: Im just agreeing with your first statement, that the Old Testament is irrelevant. I mean - talking snakes, living inside fishes, burning bushes, giants, unicorns... HER: Exactly, thats what Im trying to say - it was all superstitious nonsense. You dont see any of that in the New Testament. Jesus changed everything. ME: Virgin birth, casting demons into pigs, blood rituals, suicide, zombies... Wait, have you read the book of Revelation? HER: No, Im not into all that prophecy stuff... ME: Like the prophecy of the coming Messiah found in the Old Testament? Or, Jesus own promise to return before his followers died? Yeah, prophecy can be tricky... HER: (The worlds angriest stare...)
