Shifus Big Chris Vivar and Eric Moorcroft in an Escrima primary practice calledHou Bud.Hou Budhas four district movements within it.First,is to block with ones spiraled wrist.Second,is to trap the opponents stick with the end of your stick called thepunyoand carry it through.Thirdly,is to check and trap the opponents elbow downward with ones open palm hand(Iron Palming)thereby checking the opponents Escrima stick position and elbow from striking.Fourth,is to then strike for the opponents temple area with thepunyoend of your stick.Key points of this practice are to also keep ones mouth closed and ones tongue on their upper palate to ensure if struck one doesnt bite their own tongue with their teeth.
