Shirtless men with sticks beating up vehicles... Dancing and brandishing their sticks in front of media cameras, grinning with victory signs when ever they see a camera, plundering like maniacs, and loads of police itching to join the bash anything you see with sticks party. Progress? Point? One group of civil revolutionaries beats a cycle to tatters and another group attacks a motorcycle violently. Er is their leader aware of this severe anti vehicle tirade? Where is this all leading? A few exhausted beaten men rushed off on stretchers. Containers still closed. Meanwhile if I put the TV off the full force of an incredible Lahore monsoon morning hits me. Silver skies, lush green trees dancing madly, whooshing and rustling in the wind, sounds of sirens rushing down the canal, the smell of desi ghee parathas and Wah! Ye badal garjaay ... How foolish the human race is wasting its time beating each other and random cars and bikes. This moment of magic will pass. Justice cannot come from random unplanned emotional outbursts of anarchy but wisdom and patience.
