Show you care about beating cancer this Daffodil Day, Friday 22nd - TopicsExpress

Show you care about beating cancer this Daffodil Day, Friday 22nd August. Cancer Council is Australia’s peak cancer control organisation which invests approximately $50M a year into vital cancer research. Daffodil Day raises funds for Cancer Council to continue its work in research, patient support and prevention programs that benefit all Australians. Each day around 350 Australians are diagnosed with cancer. By being part of Daffodil Day, you are helping Cancer Council work towards better cancer treatments, hope for more survivors, and hope for a cancer-free future. Here is video about how our neighbouring Command, Lake Illawarra LAC showed how they cared about beating cancer through making the Quit Program easily accessible for staff to quit smoking. This program won a Commissioners Safety Encouragement Award last year, which was received by the Commander, Superintendent Wayne Starting and Project Manager, Inspector Steve Johnson. One of the staff members at Lake Illawarra LAC Sgt. Kylie Macfarlane has been diagnosed with a carcinoma on her lip. Its for people like Kylie that the Quit program exist. The biggest motivator for her is seeing her daughter every day.
