Sibiu- Festivals Sibiu hosts a few interesting festivals during the year such as the Jazz Festival in May, the Carl Filtsch International Piano Competition and Festival in July, the National Festival of Folk Traditions in August. I attended the last one and it was great! And others like the Annual Pottery Fair in September or the Christmas Markets in December. The city is really alive when there is a festival in town, but not in an excessive way. You will love it! Lonely Planet has recently mentioned Romania on their best value destinations list for 2015! Hopefully this will make people focus their attention towards cities like Sibiu, where accomodation, food and moving around is cheap compared to the western parts of Europe. The people you will meet in Sibiu, as in other parts of Romania are incredibly hospitable and friendly.
