Sighworthy conversation today had at PT. There was, of course, a blip on the news about today being the deadline for Obamacare. The lady beside me, who was quite chatty said Oh, Id like to be in a room with that Obama for 10 minutes. Id murder him. Me: Do you have the new insurance? Her: Yes, honey, I do. Ive got Humana Platinum and my cardiologist wont take it. Me: Im really sorry to hear that. Hopefully more doctors will get on board next year. Her: Yeah, Ive got congestive heart failure and my new insurance is already paying 100% since I met my $3000 deductible (she just had shoulder surgery and was clearly a woman in poor health). Me: Your scripts and everything? Her: Yeah and I take 12 different medications a day. Me: How much is it saving you a month on premiums? I mean this stuff was set up for people like you so that insurance companies cant jack up the premiums bc youre sick. I hope its saving you money. Her: Yeah, like $1,000 per month. Me: Um, okay. Thats a lot of money. Ill let you hate Obama, and Ill sit over here and be happy that you have healthcare you can afford now... Her: Well, yeah, when we talk about it for a while, its not sounding so bad... *sigh*
