Silent Sunday Pt. 60! Hello everybody, Sorta late with this week’s Silent Sunday feature because of festival travels this past weekend, but I gotta say that all 3 events I attended (Party.San / Germany, Brutal Assault / Czech Republic and Sylak / France) were absolutely awesome and fully recommendable! Therefor I would wanna leave you with only a short blog entry for this 60th edition of “Silent Sunday” today, highlighting Red Fang, who actually played right after Dew-Scented at the Sylak Open Air on Sunday in France: https://facebook/redfangband Red Fang are a Portland, USA based stoner/sludge Rock band that has been working very hard in these past years and deservedly picked up a lot of steam lately. Their self-titled debut album (which I think is composed of their first two EP sessions combined into a longplayer) on Sargent House / Wantage USA already kicked off things in style in the underground back in 2008/2009, but it was the large musical steps shown between “Murder In The Mountains” from 2011 and “Whales And Leeches” from 2013 (both on Relapse Records) as well as their clever use of video clips to launch their music that have paved the band’s path successfully in these last years. I have been seeing Red Fang irregularly at tours and festivals ever since they first came over to Europe with The Ocean and Intronaut in 2011 and they have indeed grown to be a kick-ass live band that keeps winning over people from all type of crowds and styles with their intense and sweaty shows. And they delivered a great set again this past weekend… Anyways, enough said…so, in case you aren’t familiar with Red Fang yet, please spend some time online to check out their hilarious video clips (Totally worth it!) and then make sure to go see them playing live in your area (Totally worth it too!).
