Silly law? Utah Constitution. Article I, Section 6. [Right to bear arms.] The individual right of the people to keep and bear arms for security and defense of self, family, others, property, or the state, as well as for other lawful purposes shall not be infringed; but nothing herein shall prevent the Legislature from defining the lawful use of arms. If she was so concerned with her safety, she could have and should have changed the location of the event to a private location where the ability to further protect her would be an option. The fact that the threat and the press re: gun rights was on the same day the Utah Legislature was scheduled to discuss this subject is likely not a coincidence.
