Since I had a slight scare last April (2013) with regards to blood - TopicsExpress

Since I had a slight scare last April (2013) with regards to blood pressure being absolutely ridiculous for a 32 year old (turns out it was white coat syndrome and it probably wasnt that bad, even though it probably was bad for me), I decided to make some necessary lifestyle changes. I wont go into details other than I weighed in at my heaviest at 273lbs, and finally broke the 50lbs loss mark last week at 222.6lbs. I have posted 2 pictures. One from Thanksgiving 2012, and the last a composition of the last 9 weeks ending today (me on the bottom). The last 9 weeks were doing the program called Insanity. Photos worth a thousand words....pretty crazy perspective, and pretty eye opening. Not that I particularly enjoy posting my pasty white chubby body on a social media site...except when my ass is involved and hilarity ensues (so funny...you know what I am talking about), but here is my before, during and after progress for Insanity. I dont know officially, but I lost approximately 10lbs doing it. I will be honest and say my last week suffered greatly (2 of 6 days complete), but certain days were supplemented by snowshoeing or frisbee. All in all I missed maybe 7 days of the program as it is hard on your body and joints and getting up at 5am sucks. I gave it a pretty honest effort and I am pleased with my results, although looking back, I perhaps could have pushed a little harder. I have noticed my recovery time after sprints is dramatically reduced, my flexibility has increased greatly and my muscle tone is significantly greater than before. It is a program that pushes you, makes you want to throwup, makes you want to quit repeatedly and it isnt for everyone. If you want to trim some flab, get better cardio and strengthen your core. Give it a try. The last 1.75 years have been eye opening about how easily it is to gain weight and how much time and effort you need to put in to keep it off. I would say 50% work, 50% mental (still working on the mental...need to get back into the groove). Quite the adventure that isnt finished yet. Gonna crush it after Christmas I think....
