Since becoming a Travel Consultant there are 2 questions I am asked most frequently: Have you got any deals for trips to Bali? Why book with a Travel Agent when I can do it myself online? The answer, to me, could not have been clearer than it has been this week. Yes, we can provide you with exclusive deals you will not find anywhere else. Yes, we can beat online prices. Yes, we can ensure that everything is arranged and save you time and money. These are all really great reasons to book with a Travel Agent, but the real value can be found when you least expect it, and need it the most. When computer says no we are there when you need us. When your wallet is stolen at the airport and you cant pick up your car rental, were there to fix it. We can speak sternly and plead for understanding where you may not get it. We can request favours and argue until we get a result. We can get you the refund when the Internet Terms and Conditions would have cost you the entire booking. We can get you on a flight, or a bus, or a train. Sometimes we can even get that car for you, regardless of what you might be told at the pick up desk. When your passport is lost and youre denied boarding or stranded abroad, were there to fix it. We can provide you with information and travel documents required by embassys. We can change your flights, tours, hotels when youre too busy getting your new passport to make altervative arrangements. We can get you to the next embarkment on that River Cruise you missed, we can arrange you extra nights accommodation when youre going to be in town longer than planned, we can get you home on a different flight when all you want is to see your family and sleep in your own bed. When your flight is delayed and you miss a tour, or connecting flight, or train or even a table reservation, were there to fix it. Well find you another fight, make alternative arrangements on bookings and reservations, and get you where you need to be as safely and stress free as possible. When a treasured family member passes suddenly and unexpectedly, we will be there for you. You might be on holiday already, and we will get you home. You might need to race against time for one final goodbye, and we will get you there. You might be packing your bags and suddenly need to cancel your entire trip, and we will handle the details. At a time in your lives when you are at your most stressed, your most emotional, your most vulnerable, a Travel Agent is there to do what you simply cannot. We can find solutions, work magic, and deal with the finer details for you. Whether you have to cope with emotions, embassy officials, less than understanding tour or rental employees, impatient customs officials, family, or funeral arrangements, you shouldnt have to spend hours speaking with airlines, hotels, tour companies and insurance assessors to repair or cancel the trip youve been planning all year. Insurance is critical when it comes to the unexpected, but a Travel Agent is invaluable. Were real people. People who save for and dream of the same holidays that you do.
