Since there was a lot of interest in this object, I thought Id share a few more shots and backstory. Located in a rural area of Croatia, far from the tourist bloated coast and the bustle of Zagreb, sits this monument to the people of Moslavina who died fighting against fascism in WWII. Purposefully abstract, perhaps to avoid direct imagery showing that many of the then-Yugoslavian brothers had fought for the other side, Titos regime constructed this monument in 1967 (as well as dozens of others dotting the landscape). Im not sure if monuments can be considered abandoned, but the people in the village below (which has maybe a dozen inhabited homes) dont seem to pay much attention to this burden, as three rusted flag poles at the entrance road clearly have not been used in decades and it attracts unwanted attention to their village from explorers far and wide. The message here remains unclear, but that doesnt stop this beast from trying to deliver it.
