Since we have a week off before the Brickyard, theres time for me - TopicsExpress

Since we have a week off before the Brickyard, theres time for me to try to settle the finish at NHMS once and for all. I get it, the 26th place is frustrating. We were all disappointed. And I understand that Jeff could have come in to get fuel with Hamlin and probably would have gotten a 10th place finish if the restart worked out. And to wrap this all up, Jeff running out of fuel was Alans fault. But heres the catch. Jeff has not been affected at all by this bad finish. Not one bit! Hed have to fall to 9TH in points to lost a spot in the Chase grid. That wont happen anytime soon! And of course, a better finish would do what to help him? Increase his position in points? HA! Jeff wanted a win. Almost had one actually. I wonder who helped get Jeff into such a great position at the end of the race. Thats right: ALAN! Jeff could have just stayed a lap down the whole race. Would that have been better? Instead, Alan fixed the car and got Jeff on a strategy where he was leading for 19 laps. Who thought that was possible after Jeffs first run? Jeffs taking risks to get more wins. Is that a bad thing? He finally has the opportunity! Thats exciting! LIterally the last two laps of NH have made what was an incredible comeback seem like a failure. Jeff had an incredible race, partially in thanks to Alan. If this upsets people, then Im not sure what you are looking for. Jeff and Alan went for it. The last caution ruined their plan. It happens! Alan sure didnt cause the last caution. Instead, he got Jeff into what should have been a third place finish. It just didnt work out. Now, its time to move on to an much better racetrack at Indy. Alan makes mistakes, but this was one misstep versus a race filled with great calls. And now I hope to see no more Alan bashing posts or fighting between members. That is not what this group is for. Not trying to hamper free speech or anything, but we need to stay positive. Saying Alan sucks will not help Jeff win a championship, will it? And DONE!
