Since when did absolute insanity become the political norm? Not just in this country, but seemingly all over the world. I keep saying I feel like Im Alice in Wonderland. What should be isnt and what shouldnt be is! CrAzY? Right? The Bible says they will know we are Christians by our love (John 13:35). That verse has always puzzled me a bit because, I sheepishly admit, I have always idealistically believed in the prevailing good of humanity, especially in this country. Therefore, this verse seemingly did not apply to life as I have known it. Until now. This country, and the world for that matter, has fallen prey to the spirit of fear. And we are tightly in its grip. Perhaps the Apostle John wrote that verse for such a time as this when brother will turn against brother, father against son (& vice versa) - and that applies to mothers & daughters too so dont think for a second that this doesnt apply to you, whoever you are... The only way to truly love your neighbor as yourself is to first love God. Just because. Because of Who He is - the Creator of EVERYTHING!!! Yes, thats right. E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G.!!! But just when you thought that was enough, He trumped the majesty part by sending a part of Himself (His only begotten Son, through whom all of creation was made in the first place), to rescue our sorry selves from the dereliction of this thing we call life. Life overwhelms us. Takes us over. We are, by nature, REACTIONARY, beings. And we dont always react like God would. Sometimes we react out of anger. Other times out of fear or just plain complacency. Nevertheless, when we live in a world filled with hate, anti-Semitism, anti-Christianity, and outright hatred for the principles upon which THIS country was founded, down to our inability to show your patriotism even (which is NOT religious, by the way). So for such a time as this, do you REALLY know how to love??? Im asking myself this very question.
