Since working with various forms of payment is something that I do on a daily basis, I can say with guaranteed certainly that the general public has no idea how rampant the use of stolen credit card information is and how easy it is to obtain. This is costing the people and businesses of the US and the world billions of dollars in unaccounted for funds from transactions. When a breech is announced consumers get angey at the retailers that were supposed to keep their information safe; understandable. Then they decide that they dont want to frequent those stores out of fear or anger; again understandable. Then the economy tanks and people loose their jobs, have to go on welfare, stores close....you know the drill. Think about all the issues that credit has perpetuated in our economy and the personal lives of so many.
